Project Scope
Acciona engaged TEW to undertake an upgrade of multiple transformers and HV supply cabling at Coombabah STP. This work included careful planning and management to de-commission the existing transformers and commission new cabling and transformer kiosks without interrupting the supply to the treatment plant.
- Construct Only
- Installation, test and commissioning of Seven (7) Transformers into Gold Coast's largest wastewater treatment plant.
- Undertake extension 11kV underground network.
Challenges
- Long procurement of specialist hardware with tight changeover and roll back timeframes.
- Interfacing with existing electrical infrastructure within an existing operational Waste Water Treatment Plant.
- Various crane lifts that require interim operational procedural changes."
Outcomes
- Successful installation of new Kiosk Transformers.
- Delivery and changeover works completed within shutdown timeframes.
- Issue resolution, repairs and update of existing infrastructure to meet new specifications.
